60 Day Tags Authorized For Out Of State Vehicles
The Texas Highway Department authorized 60 day temporary licenses for out-of-state vehicles marketing wheat and grain. The fee is one sixth of the annual rate and applies to trucks truck tractors trailers and semi-trailers. Licenses are issued by the county tax assessor collector in the first Texas county of operation.

Jail Weekend Alimony Row Starts in Travis County
Weekend jail sentences for divorced parents behind on child support are revived in Travis County. Three district judges will haul in delinquent parents who ignore warnings and place them in jail from Saturday 12 30 p m to Monday 6 30 a m for contempt of court. The plan runs until the arrears are paid. The City Council delayed action pending a statewide decontrol bill in the Legislature. The House passed the bill 98 to 30 with conferees to meet Wednesday night.

Rites Slated For Drowning Victim Henry Hamby
Funeral services for Henry Logan Hamby 41 of 20 Red River drowned Monday when his boat capsized in the Colorado River below the Congress Avenue bridge. Services set for Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Hayne Chapel with burial in Chapel Cemetery. Survivors include parents two brothers a sister and a daughter.
