Smith Begins Third Mayoral Term in Marble Falls
Red-haired R. O. Smith was sworn in for a third term as Marble Falls mayor on Monday night. New commissioners A. L. Bradford and Vernon Jackson took office as plans for water works expansion and a city survey were discussed. Since his administration began the city has paved 60 blocks, installed fire plugs, marked Main Street parking, gravelled 20 blocks, paid off 4000 dollars of debt, and spent 3500 dollars on water works. The woolen mill opened with a 75‑man payroll after May 10 or a 500-dollar monthly penalty if payroll falls short.
