Care and cleaning for a horsehide jacket and window sash tips

A leather jacket usually needs no oil but neat foot oil can lubricate and reduce cracking. Avoid light colored leathers as they darken. For soiling, use a reputable leather cleaner that preserves oil and can refinish or redye. Ordinary dry cleaning removes dirt but also oil. Window sashes can be loosened by removing excess paint from the sash path. Scrapers or putty knives work. rub paraffin on bearing surfaces or apply a paraffin-turps solvent coat for smooth operation.
