Car Production May Fall Sharply After June High
Detroit July 17. Output this month likely not exceed 700 000 vehicles. A sharp drop from last month’s 852 000 as June’s blistering pace used up steel stocks. Factors include supplier labor troubles and fewer working days after Independence Day. Manufacturers aim to rebuild stocks at lower rates hoping to resume growth next month unless Asian developments curb demand.
