One Dead and 11 Hurt in Centex Weekend Accidents
A weekend span in Central Texas left one man dead and 11 injured. Felipe Hernandez, 27, died after a pickup hit a bridge on a Caldwell County road, while a pair of Camp Hood soldiers survived a near head-on collision near Georgetown. Mrs Marion Storm executive secretary of the Texas Social and Legislative Conference was fatally injured in a three car collision four miles north of Temple. She died at Scott and White Hospital at 6 30 pm. Ten others were hurt including Miss Sarah Payne and Miss Margaret Townsley. Edgar Talley of San Benito drove one car and collided with Mrs Storms vehicle. Survivors include Storms family in Austin and Washington DC. Funeral plans will follow in Austin.

Railmen refuse to end strike but offer to move essentials
The Switchmen's Union of North America refused to end a week old strike against five railroads in the Midwest and West. Murder Charge Filed in Death Of Fight Victim
A 22 year old Creedmoor farm laborer Jesus Cabello died from stab wounds suffered in a Saturday morning fight near the Del Valle dance pavilion. Ben Aleman 36 of Route 2 was charged with murder and held on $5000 bond in Travis County jail. The fight occurred about 1 15 am and Cabello died Sunday morning at Brackenridge Hospital after being transported by ambulance.
