Austin will receive a preliminary census report in June with a final report not due until December. Census director John Manning told the Kiwanis Club that housing and agricultural censuses will run concurrently. Manning noted Texas likely gains one or possibly two congressmen from the count, affecting legislative seats. Enumerators will start April 1 with 161 workers in Travis County and 375 in the district. nose counting in Austin lasts about two weeks, rural areas three weeks. A list of questions will preface enumeration to secure household cooperation.
