Last Nazi General Mannstein Convicted in War Crimes Trial
In Hamburg on December 19, British military court sentenced Nazi Field Marshal Eric von Mannstein to 18 years in prison for war crimes. The 62 year old commander on the Eastern front was found guilty of nine of 17 charges including mistreatment of Russian prisoners of war and use of Russians as slave labor. He stood impassive as the verdicts were read.
