Austin Bank Official Hirshfeld Dies at 74
Morris Hirshfeld 74 longtime senior vice president of the Austin National Bank has died after a five week illness at Seton Hospital. A native Austinite born Aug 25 1875 he spent 48 years with the bank rising from bookkeeper to first vice president. Funeral will be at his home with Rabbi Klausner officiating and burial at Oakwood Cemetery. He is survived by two brothers a sister a niece and a grandnephew, all of Austin.

Norther Front Edges Into Texas Panhandle Rain Then Snow
A cold norther moves into the Texas Panhandle delaying warmth for Austin and the Panhandles. Temperatures fall toward freezing with a forecast low of 35 in Austin by Thursday morning and lingering cold through Thursday. Snow flurries were forecast in the Panhandle South Plains and Pecos Valley as the front nears. Amarillo logged 29 degrees and Dalhart 22 while Ponca City reported snow to the north.
