Texas Tops Nation in Hiring Disabled Workers
The Texas Employment Commission says 2,149 physically handicapped workers found jobs in October, the state’s second straight year leading nationwide. Texas also led in disabled veterans placed for the fourth consecutive year, with 1,074 veterans hired. Officials say disabled workers perform as efficiently as their able bodied peers and that employer resistance is weakening.
