Plans Set for County Judges Assoc Convention in Austin

Falls County Judge Fred B. Glass announced arrangements for the County Judges and Commissioners Association meeting to be held in Austin November 26 to 28 at the Austin Hotel. Travis County Judge Tom Johnson assisted, with last October’s Galveston vote placing 1950 events in Austin. The previous gathering in Austin occurred in 1943.

Plans of St. David's Committee Mature as Date of Drive Nears

John A. Barclay, chairman, announced Max Roesch as division chairman for St. David's Hospital new building fund campaign. Roesch, manager of the Texas Pharmaceutical Association, is state chair of the public health committee of the Texas Junior Chamber of Commerce. Remaining leadership includes Ronald W. Byram, R. L. Phinney, Joe White, Claude Voyles, Joe Cocke, Dr. Truman Norris, Willie Koeurek, and Barclay as head of the community-wide solicitation committee.

The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis sent $310 531.17 to Texas county chapters this year to aid polio patient care, up from $287 593.00 last year. Nationally, $4 084 609 has been advanced to 598 chapters since January, with 49 Texas chapters receiving aid as the 1950 incidence rate runs about 17 per 100 000.
