Easter Lily Bloom Sparks Bertram Town Memory
Bertram residents recall a 1949 Easter lily that revived in 1950 after marveling growers expected failure. Miss Ella Smith, long-time operator, watched the bulb sprout and bloom to nineteen flowers on Easter morning, drawing town interest and a poetic tribute from locals. Real estate notes and GI land loan activity follow, with Llano calf prices and hospital letters adding local color.
