The Junior and Senior Luther Leagues of St Martins Ev Lutheran Church host 300 youths for the Austin Federation Spring Rally. Dr George Fleischer from Columbus Ohio and Texas District Luther League officers attend with a 9 30 registration. Afternoon clinics and a lecture by Wilfred Sager are planned followed by a 6 pm fellowship supper and a film.
The Rev. D. Rhea Allison will lead both Sunday services at Asbury Methodist Church. Morning title is The Everlasting Stabilizer and evening includes a sing song before the sermon. Women from Asbury attend the Vacation Bible School preparation with several named members.
Harold G. Odum of the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary will be guest pastor at Wager Memorial Presbyterian Church in Austin. Odum, UT Austin graduate and second year student, is a Fort Worth native who has served as assistant pastor in Lake Charles Louisiana.
The Rev. Keith Bardin, chaplain for Episcopal students at the University of Texas, will preach at All Saints chapel after 11 a.m. prayer. Holy eucharist at 8 a.m. and services at 10 a.m. Sunday, 7 a.m. weekdays. Evening prayer weekdays at 5:30 p.m. under Canterbury club. A Friday supper at Gregg House gathers All Saints Day School faculty as guests. Troop 39 marks 10 years at the dinner.

Five people were killed and several injured when an auto sideswiped a fire chief’s car racing to a blaze near the Red River Arsenal gates. Victims include Clarence Palmer and William Henson of New Boston and Henry Arthur Smith couple with their son Larry Don Smith. James Reynolds, Mrs. Phil Smith, Billy Wayne Smith, Dorothy Sue Smith, Linda Jean Moore, and firemen W H Avery and Jack Landers were involved. The crash left multiple serious injuries and skull fractures.

The body of a newborn baby boy with the umbilical cord attached was found Friday on a Galveston Bay beach near La Porte. Justice Calder Ewing called it murder and said the infant was killed at birth, with a safety razor blade found in a bloody newspaper and a pink blanket nearby.
Racine report shows attorney J Lester Johnson striking his client as the defendant argued with the judge. Johnson kicks were followed by the defendant asking why he ignored the beating and joked about a wooden leg. The incident reflects courtroom tension and unresolved behavior.
