About fifty relatives gathered at the Abbe Gerjets home for a Sunday reunion with guests from Varina Fonda Knoke and Pome roy. Several families from Aurelia Sioux City Warren Winnipeg Lake Winnibigosh visited, mailed in notes list travel and visits. A minor accident occurred when Carl Ammons was nearly caught by a picker, clothing torn and minor injuries reported.
Mr and Mrs Lester Kolpin and Mr and Mrs Herman Wrede left for Chicago Wednesday to attend the World’s Fair and visit relatives. Clifford and Vernon Otto were business callers at Marion South Dakota Friday. Mrs Fred Radke and family visited the August Miller home at Galva. Marlys Kolpin spent the past week with her uncle and aunt Mr and Mrs Martin Huseman near Galva.
Isaac H. Graham born June 21 1863 in Washington county Ohio died September 9 1933 at 80 years. Married twice first to Josephine Thomas then to Ann Rae. Lived in Cherokee county Mt Olive Long Beach Madison and Olewein. Survived by wife eight children many grandchildren and great grandchildren. funeral held Cherokee September 13 in Christian church.
At two pm Saturday Camp Fire girls met at Phyllis Port's home. Irene Paulson and Beulah Williams led. They hiked to Muskrat Island north of town, gathered wood for a large fire and cocoa, then built individual fires in pairs. Each girl brought lunch, bacon and eggs required. Viola Fierk won best story honor. Next meeting at Evelyn Blanch's for the Council fire. Lois Whitney, Scribe.
Edwin Trigg presides at congregational church services with church school at 10 a m morning worship at 11 a m junior and Christian Endeavor at 7 p m The Sentinel is authorized agent for Sioux City papers urging subscription renewals and new orders.
A lengthy school report covers first through sophomore grades with studies in reading counting health and hygiene, nature study grammar arithmetic spelling and geography. It notes a county teachers institute closure Thursday and a football victory for the freshmen against Cleg horn.
