Published every Thursday and entered as second class matter at the Post Office in Aurelia Iowa. Subscription rates are 2 50 per year in advance and 3 00 in foreign countries. The Sentinel serves as authorized agent for Sioux City newspapers and offers subscription sales.
A Sunday picnic at Alta south park honored Mr. and Mrs. Louis Miller and children from Marshalltown. Numerous relatives gathered including Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller and family, the Hobermans, Carlsons, and others. Visitors and birthday observances were noted at several homes with cake, ice cream, and family camaraderie.
Caroline of Fenton Iowa was a guest Monday at the Arthur and Miss Christina Friedrich homes.
A miscellaneous shower for Marilyn Minkler was held Monday evening at the Community building with aqua and pink decor. Guests assisted by Joan Gates and others presented a white 4-H inscribed blanket from the Aston girls club. The event featured garden flowers, aqua angel food cake with pink ice cream, and a lace table centerpiece. Committee members included Clyde Kudrle and Olive Schnell among others.
A new circulating refrigeration unit dries basements by cooling air to condense moisture. The device, priced around 150 dollars, keeps walls dry and allows spaces to serve as dining rooms or recreation parlors, says Iowa State College engineer H. H. Beaty.
