A miscellaneous shower for Mrs Jeff Hinkeldey followed at Ben Otto home with 28 guests. Zone Lutheran Women’s Missionary League gathered at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Quimby on September 28 with 109 attendees. Officer elections named Mrs Earl Ebert zone president and Mrs Leslie Lange zone treasurer. district groups presented a skit and Bible study.
The Cherokee Zone LWML presented historical reports and skits by individual societies with singing interludes. The Sutherland ladies performed the skit Ye Have Done It Unto Me. A $138 donation was approved for the Walter Schramms of Red Wing to fund their return trip to Sierra Leone. World Day of Prayer is set for Friday March 4 at Zion Lutheran Paullina. Rev. Oscar Marquardt of Cherokee installed new officers and delivered closing devotions.
