Reports from Denison Anamosa and Audubon place the first robins of the year in those Iowa towns. Denison saw one on February 25 Anamosa noted an early robin and Audubon recorded February 19. The wry note adds the birds may regret the cold snap.
Four Iowans Mr and Mrs George Baxter of Belmond and Mr and Mrs Elmer Kesler of Armstrong escaped serious injury after their car struck ice near Cheyenne Wyoming and rolled over three times during a vacation trip.
