Rev and Mrs Olsen Honored on 25th Wedding Anniversary

Cherokee county tax refunds totaling $60,660.92 planned

The Cherokee county auditor's office is calculating $60,660.92 in agricultural land tax refunds for taxpayers in Cherokee. Payments by the county treasurer will occur later this year after the totals are certified, with 1946 1947 and 1948 refunds issued before 1949. The county is receiving a 100 percent return.

Cancer Crusade total reaches 4752 and surpasses goal

The 1950 Cancer Crusade in Cherooke county nearly completes with receipts of 4752.95. County campaign treasurer R. C. Coon credits county generosity and notes the quota of 2086 and the $4000 goal have been surpassed. Mrs. John Irwin thanks volunteers and supporters for raising awareness of cancer dangers and aiding the American Cancer Society.
