Herman Hinkeldey of Lakefield Minnesota visited with his sister Mrs Henry Otto Sr and other relatives on Wednesday. Wilbert Sump of Yorktown Iowa and Eldore Sump of Clarinda Iowa stayed overnight at the Speckerer home before starting for home Wednesday morning.
Specketer and family and Erwin Otto visited the Lester Specketer home Wednesday evening. Herman Hinkeldey, Leone Fahy, and Glenn Fahr visited J. D. Otto’s home in Galva Sunday. Minnesota was a dinner guest at H. D. Hinkeldey’s home Friday. Paula Leitz of Des Moines visited with her parents over relatives. Wm. Specketer and Dick Schmidt were business callers at Storm Lake Wednesday. Wm. Specketer and family spent Sunday visiting at August Miller’s in Galva. Wester Specker was a dinner guest at Fred Mueller’s in Galva Sunday.

County engineer Floyd G. Rubey reports washouts on approaches to four bridges and several culverts in Liberty township and two Willow township bridges after Wednesday night’s storm. Seventeen new Farm Bureau members were secured Friday on the first day of the countywide campaign. Delbert Moor, 14, was ordered committed to the Iowa Industrial School at Eldora after admitting involvement with 16 stolen cars. Moor took five of them. A Cherokee county 4-H rally day planning meeting is set for Tuesday at the Christian church with rally scheduled for June 22 at Wescott park.
Mrs. A J Anderson traveled to Omaha Nebraska last week for her daughter Lillian’s hospital graduation. Harry Walker displayed animal bones found in a gravel pit on Mayor Larson’s farm north of Alta believed to be from a buffalo buried deep. Alta’s advanced typing students placed third in a state contest. team members were Lois Christensen Lucile Holmes Mildrea Carey with Dorothy LaBron as alternate. Buena Vista College spring commencement list includes Alta graduates George Rogers Clark Mildred E Cone Audrey A Anderson and Helen Quintard.
East Afton and Elk residents and other guests enjoyed visits from Sioux City and Alta. The seven year old Billies Clymens died Friday with funeral Sunday at Aurelia Methodist. Berniece Kolpin vacationing from Des Moines. several calls and visits noted across Aurelia, Quimby, Meriden, Cherokee, and nearby towns.

Names include Oscar E Johnson N M Nelson Mark W Bancroft Arthur A Coburn A L Allen and W O Dailey with primaries set for June 6 1932 and positions sought in Cherokee County.
