Mrs. Troy Mummert hosted the ACC. G. gathering with a large turnout last Wednesday. Prizes went to Mesdames Blanch Jones Lelia Kludas and Gladys Sanborn. Out of town guests included Mesdames Gesland Clyde Gesland Clifford Coombs Walter Mnching and more.
Twenty Cherokee county recruits near the county's 30 man conservation corps quota will have preliminary exams at Sioux City on Wednesday for enrollment in the Fort Des Moines training camp. A federal court verdict in Sioux City awarded Elmore D. Anderson 89 250 and monthly future payments of 57 30 on a war risk policy. The 68 graduates of Cherokee public high school were urged to serve God and country. Frank Miles of Des Moines spoke in Wilson auditorium. Francis Johnson of Terrill will keynote the Cherokee County Farm Bureau picnic on June 13. Highly-six rural graduates will receive diplomas at the Methodist church at 2 30 p m. Miss Agnes Samuelson will deliver the eighth grade commencement address.
Harold Anderson died early Sunday morning. Friends and relatives gathered Tuesday afternoon to pay respects as services were conducted from his home and the Methodist Episcopal church.
Fred Stablefeldt of Aurelia was admitted to the hospital May 22 for medical treatment. B. W. Burnison, former Alta Schools instructor and longtime Arnolds Park superintendent, was elected Dickinson County superintendent for a three year term. Alta now hosts four long distance truck lines to Chicago and Cleveland, and Lou Stevens has updated his truck to haul to Chicago.

Berger Samuelson learned of his nephew s wife Carl Eklof of Detroit killed in an auto accident.
