Margaret Collong Merare aged decades, wife of Alfred Cottong, and mother of Mrs. Evhel Stegen, died June 29 after long illness and multiple operations. Survived by husband, daughter, two granddaughters, sisters Mary Getty and Sophie Huck, and brothers Dick and Henry Specketer. Funeral arrangements pending.

A brief service at Larsons Funeral Home Alta and a 2 06 p m Friday July 2 service at St Johns Ev Lutheran Hanover followed. Interment at Woodland cemetery. Alte. Mr and Mrs Arnold Grieme are parents of a daughter born Sunday July 4 at the Alta hospital. Mr and Mrs Ervin Schmidt and children of Washington DC are visiting the parental John Schmidt home.
Afton vicinity reports a A. C. C. Club meeting at Mrs. Roy Mason’s home with about thirty attendees. Prizes went to Mrs. Ray Jones and Mrs. Free Smith. Hostess Mrs. Verge Stieneke entertained Pai ciup Friday with three tables of 500. high went to Mrs. Doris Vonnier and 10% to Mrs. Nor Me Johnson. Many local families are noted from picnics, visits, and upcoming 4-H events in Ames and surrounding areas.
Move to Aurelia planned for the near future as the Snapps will reside on the Melton farm. Max Gilbert’s family drives a new Ford.
