The Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune reports Uncle Sam moved to curb seven estate agents tied to the Sir Francis Drake hoax. Washington issued orders denying mail use to the agents, including Amos Hartsock of Sausens, amid assertions Hartzell in London has allegedly siphoned about 1.3 million dollars from US donors.
The St. Pauls Lutheran Church held its annual meeting last Sunday electing officers. Fred Wogahn president W H Heimsoth secretary W H Bischel treasurer Will Ruebsam elder. Treasurer reported a balance of 23.22 and three new members joined. A German evening service schedule was approved for different months. An officer will be installed next Sunday.
King LeRoy Goetten announces a sale at the Goetten farm 433 near America on Wednesday January 25. 7 head of horses 6 head of cattle and machinery, 10 bushels of seed corn and 10 White Leghorn hens offered. Walter Dennen is auctioneer and Firat Savings Bank clerk. A. L. McKinnon to hold closing date February 1. Property list to appear next Sentinel.
Miss Chalice Moore, daughter of Rev. J. F. Moore, married Rev. Ralph Baker of Woden Iowa, at the bride's parents home Tuesday January 17. Eight relatives attended and the couple, both graduates of Morningside College in June 1932, will reside in Woden after a wedding breakfast.
Marcus Ia. Archie Smith 72 one of the oldest settlers in the territory died after shooting himself on his Marcus area farm 11 miles south. Found by his son Norman in the barn at 12 30 p m he was taken home and died about four hours later. Relatives said no reason could be given for the act. Surviving are his widow and Norman.
The state game department announced an extension of the fox hunting season from January 15 to February 15. The extension applies to 47 counties in this part of the state, including Buena Vista Clay O'Brien and Sac, while Cherokee county is excluded.
Roland E. Heywood a Peterson lumberman died Tuesday from pneumonia after a siege of influenza He was a former Peterson ball team catcher about twenty years ago and served as Lane Moore Lumber Co manager and later auditor He had operated a lumber yard in Peterson for the past four years

Mrs John AL Otto of Galva spent Tuesday at the Hernan Hinkeldey home. Mr and Mrs Levin Huseman and Mrx Lester Kolpin were Storm Lake shoppers Thursday. Mr and Mrs Wm Specketer were guests at the August Miller home in Galva. Mr and Mrs Lester Specketer were dinner guests at the Fred Mueller home in Galva. H H Otto and children Dorothy LaVon and Arnal visited Roy Lichtenberg. Erica Otto, two weeks at Lichtenberg, returned home with them. Mr and Mrs Eddy Miller and family were Storm Lake shoppers Saturday. Mr and Mrs Garl Hinkeldey and daughter Lillian were Storm Lake shoppers Saturday.
