Mr. and Mrs. Herman Friedrich and Ardith of Aurora 8 Dak visited relatives over the weekend. Numerous families hosted belated Christmas dinners and gift exchanges including August Voss Leland Bettis Donna Lee Davenport Martin Hinkeldey and others with gatherings at Storm Lake Davenport and Storm Lake area homes.
Christmas supper guests at Mrs. Martha Lietz of Alta included Leland Bettis and Donna Lee of Davenport, Herman Winterhof family, Walter Miller family, Harry Lietz family. A Christmas birthday party hosted by the Harry Lietz home featured a gift exchange and relatives. Birthday celebrations for Mrs. Harry Lietz, Mrs. Arthur Wogahn, and Wayne Wrede were noted among Herman Wrede's children.
The Pal club held its Christmas party at Vera Stieneke’s home with 12 members and three guests, followed by a gift exchange and secret pal reveal. L. M. Smith, 88, longtime Afton resident, died in Cherokee. funeral held December 24. On the way home from the cemetery, a car driven by George Smith skid and overturned near Whistler place. occupants included Burl Elliott and Mrs. Wm. Smith.
