The Reverend Dr. J A O Preus, international president of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, urges religious leaders worldwide to join a modern crusade to Hanoi and other communist capitals to press for humane treatment of U S prisoners of war. He outlines a five point plan announced at a Washington press conference with POW veterans and relatives present.
The Lutheran president pledged to help secure humanitarian treatment for American prisoners of war in Southeast Asia and to hasten their release. The statement frames a broader activist effort and emphasizes moral responsibility by church leadership.
Cherokee County Board of Supervisors met in regular adjourned session with all members present. Minutes approved. Approved $1500 from County General Fund to Civil Defense Fund for 1971 and $7500 from State Institution Fund to Cherokee Training Center for 1971. Denied road vacation between Section 7 and 1893-41 after hearing notices and objections. Meeting adjourned.

Mollie and Billie Estes visited grandparents in Iowa and Wisconsin while parents Dr Bill Estes attended a Chicago dental convention. They stayed with relatives in Skokie Illinois and Menomonee Falls Wisconsin, returning to Aurelia Friday and spending the weekend with Estes and Anderson families. Frakes Water Softeners advertised by Paul’s Radio. Earl Larsen and Jipp Larsen from Groton South Dakota and Paullina were dining.
