Mt Olive notes list Mr and Mrs Jack Lamb and sons visiting Sioux City. Dennis and Danny Bruce stayed with aunt near Cherokee while parents were in Sioux City. Several neighbors attend parties in Cherokee Aurelia Diamond township and Quimby with family and friends.
A Friday night gathering at the Alta Legion hall featured 500 games with Ole Johnson winning high for men and Lillian Anderson high for women. The event included a gift exchange, grab bag, and light refreshments, with numerous local families noted as attendees.
Mr and Mrs Homer McMorran and their infant slept through a lightning strike that demolished the north end of their Carbon house. The family rested in the south room and escaped unharmed.
