The Aurelia Sentinel announces subscription rates per year in advance two dollars for domestic and foreign copies one dollar and fifty cents for foreign readers and warns that the paper does not stop at expiration unless notified.
Iowa State College Extension Service economists say the supply of corn may be smaller if corn is unsealed or free this year, yet total supplies by Oct 1 could be higher than last year. A marketing quota vote remains possible after the Sept crop report, with cooperators likely aligned against non-cooperators and livestock feeders.
Economists say this fall may see less new corn sealed than last year due to shrinking storage space and potentially wet weather drying corn to an unsealable moisture level. Despite a higher seal outlook, carryover and less free corn mean farmers will require more corn for feeding because of rising livestock numbers.
Plans for a large Labor Day celebration at Sutherland on Monday September 4 feature a day of free rides a baseball game between Moneta and Sutherland Gould's Million Dollar Show at 1 30 and a big revue at 7 45 free street attractions music by the Sutherland band and dances at night with invitations for residents to attend.

Miss Margaret Ann Swanson of Chicago and George Cushman of San Antonio were married Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cherokee in a single ring ceremony. The bride wore a floor length white marquisette gown with orange blossoms and carried tea roses and lilies. The couple planned to live in San Antonio Texas after a honeymoon trip to Denver. A separate item reports 11 year old Roberta Underbakke’s nose restoration after a mare nipped her near Decorah.
Aurelia edges Storm Lake 2 to 1 in a tense pitcher’s duel as Wattie Holm’s nine capitalize on a sixth inning rally. Crimmings struck out 11 for Aurelia while Branstetter held Storm Lake to five hits.

The Fort Dodge C I O baseball team will play Wattie Holm's Aurelia sluggers Sunday afternoon at Aurelia grounds with 2:30 pm pitch. The two teams previously tied 4 to 4 in a twilight contest at Fort Dodge. Fort Dodge reached the state tournament semi finals in Des Moines, promising a fast, closely played game.
Aurelia’s midget baseball squad beat Cherokee 20 to 6 on Aurelia grounds after a 16 to 4 win at Cherokee last week. Battery was Huck Brady and Bob Coombs in Mondays game with Brady and Chuck Rapp in the prior win. Coach Ralph Brown, Aurelia catcher, directs three practices weekly, praising Lloyd Herman son as top hitter and Donnie Wieland at shortstop.
The schedule lists nine football games from Sept. 22 to Nov. 11 with venues alternating between there and here, including Sioux Rapids, Central high in Sioux City, Akron, Marcus, Peterson, Paullina, Cleghorn, and Alta. A six inch water main leak caused Villisca to lose 50 000 to 75 000 gallons of water.
