Social notes report multiple gatherings from Linn Grove Aurelia Quimby and Alta as Mrs Nordstrom hosts a birthday party with many Holstein Schaller Cherokee and Aurelia guests. Others travel to Des Moines for the state fair as part of the Cherokee county judging team.
Alta Advertiser reports Mr. Edward Hinkeldey and Miss Leona Fahr wed in Galva on Tuesday August 22 at 4 PM. Rev. A Kock officiated. Attendants were Miss Edna Golnitz and Floyd Fahr. The couple, raised in Hanover, will reside on a farm near Hanover.
Local residents visit relatives in Nebraska and Iowa towns including Klemme Lake View and Galva. Families picnic at Sunset Park Storm Lake and Storm Lake area visits are reported along with travel to Des Moines for the state fair. Also noted are teaching arrangements and a wedding stationery item.
Epworth League names officers after Sunday lesson led by Miss Ruth Welch. Lois Anderson is president with Geraldine Harrison, Mildred Cave, Vira Ammons, Edwin Watts as vice presidents, Floyd Dailey secretary, and Raymond Kruse treasurer. Installed Sunday evening September 3.
Madelynne Booth stayed with relatives in Aurelia before joining her aunt and uncle in Newell. Elks No. 3 and No. 4 schools received state aid, and teachers Matzdorff Olson, King, Wiggins, and Waters were noted. A move and picnic season framed week’s visits and school starts across Dows City Aurelia Good Hope Schaller Dow City and Knoke.

He urges heavy culling to protect farm income, notes July first egg storage higher than a year ago, and says market receipts January through June up 14 percent. He favors keeping pullets starting to lay August to December for best laying performance.
