Seventy seven Aurelia area seniors and guests gathered at the Community Center for a Monday potluck with members from Aurelia Peregrine White and Mary Guild attending. Activities included performances by Heidi Baldner and Jeanne Wojack, bingo and a sing along. Sheryl Namanny led a devotional in a forthcoming Women’s Fellowship meeting at Congregational United Church of Christ. An Aug 20 embroidery club at City Park Shelter House and a Aug 7 graduation party for Bonnie Hasenwinkel were also noted.
An open shower and brunch for Mrs Manoocher Amir Soltani will be held Saturday August 21 at 9 30 a m at the United Methodist Church. An open house reception for Mr and Mrs Manoocher Amir Soltani hosted by her parents will be Sunday August 22 at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia with calls from 2 to 4 30 p m.
A tea at the home of Mrs Celia Daniels Wednesday August 18 from 2 to 4 p m honors Mrs Freda Nelson and Mrs Florence Stablefeld. Attendees are asked to forgo gifts and monetary gifts.
Local attendees Mr and Mrs Eddy Matthew Mrs Henry Buddenhagen Mr and Mrs Elmer Buddenhagen Mr and Mrs Ed Buddenhagen Mrs Walter Radke Mrs Walter Meinking and Mabel Johnson attended Mrs Charlie Meyer's funeral at Marcus. Mrs Meyer was Mrs Matthew's grandmother and sister of Mrs Buddenhagen. James Anders Norma of Dysart and Mrs Henry Buddenhagen hosted them as house guests. Harold Nelson Mrs James Nelson and Bruce drove to Tabor to visit Nelsons sister-in-law.
Mrs James Nelson and Bruce attended the rodeo at Sidney. Des Moines visitors Ron Peterson and family spent the weekend in Glen Dyslin and Albert Peterson homes. Lawrence Anderson Angela returned from Minnesota after visiting Harold Flanigan and Walt Johnson families, attended a Twins Yankee game and Show Boat in Minneapolis. Darrell Bennett of Lincoln hosted in Loren McCannon home. Dwight Rawson from Kingsley visited. McCannon home guests included Colleen Wetherell Melody and Jeff Wetherell. Excess Pounds diet capsules ad followed by a card of thanks for condolences and memorials.
A note expresses thanks for cards, flowers, visits, and meals during a hospital stay. Appreciation is extended to Dr. Berge, the nurses, and Rev. King for their care and prayers.
