Rev and Mrs Bahr of La Grange Texas visit Hanover area with daughter Mrs Ed Kachmarinski family near Storm Lake. He will speak at the 10th anniversary dedication of St Pauls Lutheran church Alta on Sunday. Other relatives gathered for Henry Hage 25th anniversary at Lakefield Minn. and extended visits follow with local families. Edward Bahr returns to Storm Lake area after a visit for medical check up.
Mt Olive residents gathered for funeral services for Mrs. Mary Leeds. Attendees included Lloyd Ohlson Clara Ohlson B H Dukes Sherwood Ohlson Robert Bengtson Ronald Bengtson Oscar Gustafson Theo Stevenson Earl Crippen and others. Gerald Hahn traveled to Omaha for army physical.
The Mt Olive Ladies Aid gathered Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs Raymond Nelson near Aurelia for a pleasant entertainment hosted by Mrs Clarence.
A July 24 1950 special Aurelia Iowa council meeting chaired by Mayor Howell approved levying taxes as estimated in the published budget. Members Anderson Carlson Christensen Kaskey and Wilson voted aye with no nays and the clerk was directed to certify the levy to the County Auditor. The meeting adjourned after no further business.
August 7 1950 city council met with Mayor Howell and Clerk Sjoberg. Members Anderson Carlson Christensen Wilson attended. Kaskey absent. Minutes from July 10 and 24 approved. Treasurers and clerk reports accepted. Bills authorized for payment across funds including general library waterworks park and grading. Meeting adjourned.
Ohlson led devotions and a missionary story while Mrs. Jess Weatherman presided over the business meeting. A luncheon was served by Mrs. Nelson and aides of the Aurelia Methodist church. Several local families visited, traveled, or hosted guests from Quimby to Storm Lake, Cherokee, and Sioux City as National Guard training, anniversaries, hospital stays, and moves were noted.
