Local schools director Miss Lulu Rose Orr visited Diamond schools this week. Neighbors and parishioners attended meetings at Good Hope and Diamond Ladies Aid. Baptismal services are planned for Easter at the church with special music and teaching. Families from Good Hope and nearby areas gathered for visits and a large sub-district ministers’ meeting hosted by Rev. Liming.
Families and friends were seen at various homes over the weekend. Axel Johnson and family hosted dinner guests in Pilot township while Earl Crippen visited the Ben Galvin home in Mt. Olive vicinity. Frank Peterson spent Sunday with Edgar Johnson in Silver township and Mrs. Ivan Winter from Sioux City stayed with Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hickey. Mrs. Ralph Cram of Aurelia joined Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Lindsay for a Sunday visit.
Afton and vicinity covers a Sunday gathering with Mr and Mrs Irwin Hahn and daughters, funeral attendance for Mrs Mumert's uncle in LeMars, A C C meeting led by Mrs Florence Zwick, and a parade of out of town visitors. Aston 4 H club held a April meeting with talks on breads of Bible Times gluten tests and yeast, Easter games, and prize winners with refreshments afterward.
Mrs. Lester Kolpin and daughter visit Martin Huseman. Schmidt and Speckerer families shop and visit in Galva and Storm Lake. Adolph Loeb spends week with Kolpin. New baby daughter born to Ernest and spouse on Sunday April 9. Nearby families host and shop with H. H. Otto, Louie Schroeder, Fred Radke, and others.
