A notice from John Culbreath of Keg Creek Columbia County Georgia offers a reward of 15 dollars for the apprehension of two enslaved men described as Stephen a yellow complexioned man about 40 years old five seven or eight feet tall wearing cotton homespun clothes and a black man about twenty to twenty three wearing fine cotton pantaloons and a white shirt both fled from in the vicinity of the Oconee river near Shoulder Bone creeks. Stephen is alleged to be in Virginia and the other man named George or George Culbreath is sought in jail or delivered to claim the reward. The date given is September 24 with a request for capture or confinement.
