Graig the Conman Tracked in Wilkes and Oglethorpe Counties

A man described as a likely Black male named Graig, 35, with a letter from a Baptist church, travels near Washington and Augusta while posing as a preacher. A reward is offered for his apprehension and return to Dry Fork of Long Creek in Oglethorpe County or secure jail, with March 18 noted.

Ten Dollars Reward for Philip the Runaway

A $10 reward is offered for the capture of Philip a well known Negro man about six feet tall. Raised at Horse Creek South Carolina, last seen near Augusta. Notice of sale of John Catlett estate in Richmond County Georgia

Runaway Slave Sam Detained Near Augusta For Reward

A notice offers a 20 dollars reward for returning Sam a 36 year old Black man from Africa who fled from a subscriber's plantation near Augusta on the 2d. He is 5 feet 8 inches, slender, with thick lips and missing front teeth. He wore a blue jacket and pantaloons and sometimes a blue coat, speaks broken English. Apprehend or jail him to claim reward with expenses. February 16.

Reward Offered for Runaway Slave Ransom Near Greensboro

A notice from H. W. Todd in Greene county offers twenty dollars and expenses for the return of a runaway enslaved man named Ransom. Described as six feet tall, very dark, bowlegged with large feet and a flat nose. Ten dollars reward if captured and jailed. September 1860.

Garnett Estate to Sell 247 Acres in Columbia County

Notice states nine months after date of application to the Inferior Court of Columbia County an order will be sought to sell 247 acres of land on Uchee Creek joining Low’s and Wankersley’s tracts. The land is the entire real estate of John Garnett deceased, for the benefit of heirs and executors. Eliza Garnett administratrix. August 2.
