House elected Benjamin Whitaker Speaker and Smith Clayton Clerk. Governor informed the Legislature would adjourn until tomorrow morning. Thursday set for gubernatorial election with Peter Early, Gen. John Clark, and Col. No Long as candidates. Saturday to elect a Senator to Congress and appoint state officers. General Hampton's army encamped near Chateaugay with delays awaiting Gen Wilkinson forces to join for a possible push at Montreal.
