United States Act Extends Judicial Powers to County Courts
U S Congress authorizes county courts in Champlain Sacket Harbor Genesee Niagara Buffalo Creek districts to hear revenue cases Penalties forfeitures and to appoint a U S attorney to prosecute under revenue laws in those districts Also allows mitigation of fines and ties the authority to March 1797 provisions with a one year term. Jersey port of delivery designated Perth Amboy district with a lighthouse project and keeper appointment funded by five thousand gallons of oil and costs approved by President Jefferson.
