Advertisement from B Picquet of Augusta announces himself as agent for Benj Sherrod Co BW Washington Wilkes County contractor for the Army of the United States in Georgia. He asks commanding officers to give early information on rations needed and promises prompt attention to letters on the subject. Dated January 4, 1813. tf

LL persons having claims against the estate of Hezekiah Beal of Richmond County are requested to present them in due form. Debts to the estate should be paid promptly. John Bostick and Jacob Beal are executors and guardians. January.
The Congress debate centers on a bill to let the President appoint officers below colonel directly. Mr Pitkin attacks the provision as eroding republican checks fearing a rise in presidential power. Mr Williams defends the plan as necessary for rapid postwar mobilization and minor officer appointments.
