On December 20 1841 Phibion Waters and his wife left my house in Augusta with clothes they planned to retrieve the next day. They were warned not to leave that night fearing certain persons. They have not been heard from since and inquiries are urged to determine their fate, with thanks to informants by Th C Russell J P.
In Randolph County a note dated September 10 1810 for 600 dollars linked to Peter W Gautin is declared stolen and the court requires Robert Johnson to publish six months in a state gazette to establish the note. in Warren County Francis Bell seeks letters of administration for Howell Gregory's estate and creditors are summoned before the court on the March term to show cause why letters should not be granted.
On the first Tuesday in March a lot in Augusta will be sold between 10 and 20 o clock. The property lies on Bord street and features a store dwelling with stables gun-house and packing house. The sale fulfills an execution from the Sixth Circuit Court of the United States Georgia District George Wragg vs Johnson and Kunzie. Purchasers must pay all costs.
The sheriff announces sale on the first Tuesday in March at the court house in Columbia. Property includes Lot No 1 in Ship on Commons of Weighsnowough and 160 acres at Jeemanys joining Carr Napier and Randolph. Also 368 acres on Salevan Creek, owned by William Kennon, with Ramsey and Jones nearby. Trustees indicate several dry executions against Pettit and others. Sheriff James S. Walton. Jan 41.
The sheriff will conduct a sale on the first Tuesday in March at Warren County Court-house. Properties include 100 acres owned by William Talor, 120 acres owned by Reuben Reese and Otis Averett, 110 acres adjoining William Breed, and 100 acres on Livite Brier Creek tied to various executions. Also listed are a negro woman Jenny, a bay horse, a bed and bed clothes, a negro boy Peter, and other personal property seized to satisfy multiple judgments. Cash only. January 31.
On the upcoming March Tuesday at the Waynhorough Court House, two Burke County tracts are to be sold: 1 000 acres on Breshey Creek adjoining John Bryant and Lewis Byer, owned by James Welch deceased, per Jeil Slater. 2 390 acres on Fitze’s Branch adjoining Elizabeth Laseter and Alexander Crozier, owned by Thomas Crozier, to satisfy multiple judgments for John Cell administrator of John Tredwell. Also, a negro boy named Joe, owned by Samuel Bogg, is to be sold at the same proceedings, per Richard H. Wilde, pointed out by the defendant Joseph Perry.
An advertisement calls for a person familiar with the Blacksmiths trade to apply at this office for a book binding position. The notice seeks experience in metalwork skills applied to book restoration or binding tasks.
An Elbert County notice describes medicinal springs near Gar al Daniel on Broad River two miles from the mouth of Bivestone Creek. Mr. Harvey details Mrs. Harvey’s recovery after six weeks drinking the calcareous water, praising the springs’ healthful effects and urging local residents to consider a nearby spa for debility and weak health.
The act extends the opening of land offices in the Orleans territory to dates designated by the President by proclamation. It repeals the prior act of February 16, 1811 and directs sales of public lands to proceed at designated offices under the same terms as the existing law. President Madison’s era, with H. Clay and Geo Clinton as leaders, confirms approval on December 12, 1811.
