Proclamation Offers Reward Over City Robberies
A city proclamation dated December 22 1810 announces a reward of one thousand dollars for information leading to the conviction of white suspects and four hundred dollars for people of color in a spree of burglaries and robberies near Auguts. It orders the sheriff marshal and constables to aid in locating suspects and promises freedom rewards for enslaved informants. The notice also lists stolen goods including cashmere fabrics silks and various textiles from Mr Moore’s store.

A small eight year old sorrel horse from the subscriber’s stable disappeared during the night of the 17th or 18th inft. The horse is blind in the right eye with a clear eyeball, long mane and switch tail, in very good order. A liberal reward is offered for recovery or information leading to the horse.
