Classified Advertisement Rates and Legal Notice Guidelines
Published weekly and bi weekly by A H Pemberton and City Paper. Rates for ads include six and a half cents per line for first insertion and lower rates for subsequent insertions. Legal notices require sixty days prior public gazette publication for land or Negro sales and forty days for personal property, debtors and creditors notices, and forty days for court sale applications. notices must be posted in the county where the property lies and prepayment of classifieds is expected.

Revolutionary Act Grants Full Pay to Surviving Revolutionary Officers
The act authorizes surviving Continental Line officers entitled to half pay to receive full pay for life beginning March 3, 1826, limited to the full Captain’s pay. It deducts any prior pensions, ends pensions for others under the act, and extends similar lifelong pay to noncommissioned officers, musicians, and privates not already on the pension list. Payments are Treasury-directed, nontransferable, and semiannual after March 3, 1828.
