The Attica Commercial Club led a ten day drive to rebuild and gravel the river levee toward the Warren county bridge. Bid by A P Green, work included widening to 26 feet, cement wall, and 1 inch gravel. total cost around 1400 dollars with community donations and county funds.

Veteran Edward Lippold Dies After Long Illness At Attica
Edward Lippold age 79 died at 9 40 a m Wednesday at his home 106 West Pike Street Attica after a year long decline and a prior gas inhalation incident. A German native born August 31 1844 he served in Co K 16th Indiana from 1862 to 1865 including a brief imprisonment at Andersonville. Funeral Friday at 2 pm with burial in Riverside cemetery. He married Louisa Kopp May 16 1872 and left five children two sons John and Ed of Widthrop a daughter Mrs I O Godman of Chicago and one grandchild. He is survived by one brother Will and three sisters Mrs Val Correll Miss Josephine Lippold Mrs J E Macklin.

Hunters Return From Wisconsin Trip With Deer Carcasses

Steimley Earns Sigma Xi Honor for Math Breakthrough

C E L Brakeman and Will Wilson known as Twister died Friday evening at a Goodland rooming house after a week of pneumonia. A longtime C and E I employee, he served as brakeman on the switch engine and worked Brazil to Goodland runs. The Purdue battery was mustered in last Wednesday in the gymnasium by Major Robert H. Tyndall. One hundred eighty three men joined Battery B First Field Artillery, Indiana National Guard, with equipment valued at $100,000.
