Mr and Mrs John W Minor celebrate their twenty ninth wedding anniversary at their West Point home on Thanksgiving night from 8 to 11 p.m. Their daughter Leona M Minor and Mrs William Siersma assisted. Home orchestra provided music, yellow and white mums decorated the house, and a three course lunch was served. Out of town guests included Jesse Funk and son Myron of Attica George Pearl of Shawnee Mound and Mary Bennett and daughter Ossie B Bennett of Lafayette.

Lost Arm in Shredder Near Veedersburg

Eight Year-Old Shot While Rabbit Hunting Near Bernhart
Arthur Townsend eighth son of Noah Townsend was accidentally shot on Thanksgiving Day by a rifleman in the party nine. The bullet entered his back near the right shoulder blade and lodged under the left shoulder before being removed by Dr. Sullivan. The injury is not serious and the lad is expected to recover.

Elisha Pithoud former county commissioner died at his home south of Covington at age 81. Born and raised in Mill Creek township he was active in politics for decades. He is survived by five daughters and a son. Sam Lamb and his son Carl of Boswell visited Attica on Wednesday.

Surprise Birthday Gathering for Isaac Waldrip

Injured Shawnee Resident John M. Carnahan in Beulah Accident
John M. Carnahan, longtime Shawnee township resident now of Webster Grove near St. Louis, fell from a Beulah neighborhood porch injuring his right femur near the hip joint. At nearly 80, his bones heal slowly. Dr. Finney treated him and he was later placed on a train home accompanied by his nephew Albert VanDervolgen to assist during recovery.

Former Williamsport Postmaster Dies at 79 in Williamsport
John D. Chambers, longtime Williamsport resident and Civil War veteran, died at his home Saturday after a period of illness. He served as postmaster from 1898 to 1906 and was active in G A R and local politics. He leaves a wife and son on the family farm.

Fountain County commissioners vote to end stock movement restrictions effective after tomorrow. Federal shipment ban from Indiana and some states remains but may be revised to apply only where foot and mouth cases exist. Fountain County Corn Show At Veedersburg High School
The Fountain County corn show comes to Veedersburg High School on Friday and Saturday December 18th and 19th in conjunction with the Van Buren township corn and school exhibit. Purdue University will send three speakers including a domestic science demonstrator to engage girls and women. Fifty-two men enter the five acre contest and twenty four boys compete in acre and potato events for prizes including a silver cup to the five acre winner to be engraved and shown at the Purdue Short Course in January. A county township boy will be called as winner and many other prizes are offered to men, boys and girls with the premium list to be issued next week.

A bold attempt to steal I. N. Kerr's pacing mare Thistle from Veedersburg failed Wednesday morning when a buggy thief eluded capture until Ed Galloway detained him at gunpoint.
