Nebeker Dies Noted Fountain County Politician at 77
Enos H. Nebeker, former U S treasurer and Covington leading figure, died at his home after kidney and bladder troubles. Born June 26, 1836, he shaped county and state politics for over five decades and signed Covington Light and Water Co. papers before his death. Survived by wife, a daughter Mrs F L Torris of El Paso and son Sewell Nebeker of Indianapolis.

Hotel Attica Leased to Saunders for One Year
W B Reed receiver of the Hotel Attica leases the property to R R Saunders for one year. Saunders, from Tab in western Warren county, has operated a hotel for six years there and previously ran a South Side Chicago hotel for fifteen years. He plans renovations to improve service and rooms. If not redeemed, substantial repairs will follow. Attica minister sets unique funeral record
Rev. Chas W. Postill of Attica Methodist Church has conducted his 100th funeral in under two years since taking charge. He plans one more before two years elapse, averaging about one funeral per week with only seven weddings performed in the period. Local undertakers’ salaries are debated, while the minister’s funeral work is seen as incidental to broader duties. Mrs Lon Kelso and daughter Bernice return from Lafayette after death of her father Herman Repschleger.

Mack Irvin Sued for 3000 Over Treasurers Accounts
The State of Indiana on the relation of Claude B. Philpott prosecutes Mack Irvin Jr in Fountain County circuit court for 3000 representing misaccounted funds from his four year tenure as county treasurer ending Jan 1 1910. The complaint cites 2382 80 overpayments and 3150 re computing road tax plus Sunday charges and a 763 45 tax refund credit disputed by the board of commissioners. Irvin retains O P Lewis as counsel and offers to pay any lawful debt if found due.

Will Van Deventer writes from Esperanza Argentina that the steamer Oravia struck rocks near the Falkland Islands and sank four hours after the collision. All passengers were rescued by whaling boats. he left Montevideo for his destination by river steamer. Harvests in Argentina were promising and his wind stacker business was strong.
