Death of Attica feed founder Falk in Indianapolis
Frank Falk founder of the Attica Feed Exchange, formerly of Williamsport, was found dead on the Washington Street Bridge over the White River in Indianapolis with a bullet wound. Police doubt murder and suspect suicide. Falk once owned the Williamsport mill and accumulated wealth about forty to fifty thousand dollars before financial decline. Co. O. Enochs, former feed exchange owner, supports suicide theory. Also note: Tom Wantland suffered a compound fracture of the right clavicle in an At tica gravel pit accident when a scraper struck a root and the Johnson bar hit him.

Crawfordsville Montgomery County Fair Opens With Big Racing Week
The Montgomery county fair at Crawfordsville starts September 1 for five days and aims for top racing results. Over 4,500 in purses is posted with strong entries across multiple days including Tuesday 2:35 pace for 500, 28 entries, county pace and trot for 40 each. Wednesday features 2:30 trot with 36 entries and 500 purse. Thursday hosts four 500 races including 2:19 trot 22 entries and 2:16 pace 37 entries. Friday offers three 500 stakes with 2:12 pace 28 entries and 2:24 trot 34 entries.

Death Won After Long Fight
Mrs. Cyrus Brown received a telegram from Everett McBroom in Eureka Springs Ark announcing the death of their son Donald Monday about 1 30 pm after a bout with typhoid fever. The family had all suffered with fever since moving from Bartlesville Oklahoma to Eureka Springs in April. Donald, aged just over nine, was described as a bright lad and died as relatives awaited a possible recovery.

Close Call As 14-Year-Old Boy Is Hit On Main Street
Harlan McKnight, nephew of Jacob Rucker, was struck by a Ford touring car driven by Rob Morris on West Main Street near Borst meat market. The bicycle rider suffered scrapes and bruising but no bones were broken or internal injuries. He received treatment from Dr. Sullivan and was later described as bruised but not seriously hurt.

Injured in Runaway Near Pine Village
Sam Armstrong and his sister, residents near Pine Village, were injured Sunday evening when their buggy ran away after a piece of paper in the road frightened the horse near Charles Milburg’s Warren county home. They fell about fifteen feet at a brook bridge. Sam suffered facial bruises and a right side injury while his sister had lighter bruises. Frank Ogborn Steeley McMahon and others from Pine Village aided them to the Milburg home until their parents retrieved them Monday. The horse was captured near the Webb home north of the accident site.

Dr. George Baker recently located at Odell made the second highest grade among nearly a hundred applicants in the state board examination. He graduated last June from Louisville Medical College and chose to practice locally rather than move away. He bought out Dr. Jeffers and opened shop in Odell.
