Hoopeston Illinois resident John Dazey, a canning factory driver, was crushed when a wagon wheel passed over his legs after a fall during unloading. Taken to Lake View Hospital in Danville, initial fears of amputation proved unfounded and doctors report a fair chance of recovery despite severe leg injuries. Dazey is nephew to Mrs. Fannie Shultz and Mrs. E. E. Browning.

Farm Residence Barns Burn Near Hedrick
Sunday near noon a fire destroyed the farm residence of John Clark about a mile and a half northeast of Hedrick. Neighbors saved the barn but the house and most household goods were lost. George Smith owned the house. Clark and his family lived there. Norman J. Berry of Aetna Insurance adjusted the claim in Attica with Clark receiving a $261 check.

Peter Warbritton Dies After Five Month Cancer Struggle
Peter Warbritton 65 died Thursday July 24 at his sister's home in Goodland after a five month battle with cancer of the face. Born in Liberty Township he lived there most of his life, later seeking treatment in Goodland. Survived by four brothers and four sisters, he never married. The body was brought to Attica and buried at Keister cemetery near Kramer. Attendants included Mrs Ploutz and Mrs Johnson with Catherine.

Injured When Overcome by Heat at Kramer Farm
Amos Brocks suffered severe head and neck injuries after being overcome by heat and falling from a water wagon while filling a tank on Billy Woods farm near Kramer. He lay unconscious for about thirty minutes before teammates found him.Dr Finney treated wounds including a deep cut behind the right ear and swelling around the left eye. The victim remained in the city yesterday for dressings.

Judge Schoonover and wife arrived in Covington Sunday evening from a trip through the East. They recovered from the Lima Ohio accident when their car was badly damaged and they were shaken. The traction car conductor was negligent for failing to sound the whistle at the crossing and the company bought the judge a new auto. He will not file suit as neither spouse sustained injuries of consequence.
