What Mrs. Riley Says

Mrs Riley reports from Marion Indiana on September 4 1892 about the National Soldiers Home tour. Eleven hundred old soldiers live there with about one hundred in hospital care. The Union Veteran Legion hosted a reception for Mrs Baer, and a program for the occasion is enclosed. The home is well heated by natural gas, with many amenities described as a grand home for veterans. The Riley reunion in Indianapolis is planned, while local crops suffer from drought and gardens burn. Vila Riley notes the reception cards and program are superb.
