An essay arguing that money has no intrinsic value but gains importance through its function as a circulating medium. It cites the legal tender principle, the role of money in paying debts and taxes, and historical examples to show that wealth lies in production and exchange rather than in the money itself. It warns against redeemable currency and urges a loyal, circulating money system.
