Great Shorthorn Sale in Des Moines Iowa

Thousands of Shorthorn cattle will be paraded at the Des Moines Coliseum in a major sale arranged by John Evans with A Mackaye representing the Mackaye sisters estate of Birmingham England. The estate holds vast American stock from Idaho, Montana and Wyoming and plans to sell all holdings next fall to breeders nationwide. Iowa’s top cattle state status draws breeders from the Midwest to Des Moines for the sale likely in early fall 1911. Mrs Frank Collard of Oakland and Andrew Brown departed for Omaha to attend university.
