Reduced World's Fair Rates By Western Passenger Assoc
The Western Passenger Association acted to extend Chicago day rates for the World's Fair to the remaining period. Burlington and Santa Fe discussed rates for Oct 20 and 31, with a plan to apply them across the period, subject to unanimous agreement. After Oct 15, round trips within 200 miles or up to six dollars beyond will apply, with St Louis excluded from the new scheme. Final return limits extend to Nov 15.

Consolidation Talks In United City Railway Unions
In Cleveland on October 11 the Amalgamated Association of Street Railway Employes and the Brotherhood of Surface Railway Engineers began their annual convention. A committee was appointed to seek consolidation, while endorsing trolley use where not opposed. Speeches urged harmony with employers and avoiding strikes. the Surface Engineers claim 25,000 members and meet to pursue consolidation with the Amalgamated.
