Dismissal Sought for Theodore Thomas at World’s Fair Music Bureau
A committee of the National World's Fair commission recommended Theodore Thomas be removed from leadership of the music bureau after finding his administration too fresh and in disregard of explicit orders. The report, delivered late Thursday, coincided with the Belgian Arts Exhibit opening, which drew dignitaries and a formal reception. Plans for Sunday openings and debates over the exhibit’s financing and jury system were also discussed alongside restaurant pricing tensions and a Catholic Knights claim payment.
