The firm of Palmer and Findley dissolves with W J Findley retiring. W T Palmer and Company will continue the drug business and seek early settlement of all accounts. A big Fourth of July parade is planned in Atlantic with local business floats. A lightning rod advertisement by H S Rattenberg of Atlantic, Iowa asserts copper center rods at 16 cents per foot and a non-copper version at 10 cents, with guarantees on the copper version. The church committees secured park space for union services all summer, with seating around the band stand. Dr E S Hill was re-elected trustee and named board president. Atlantic, Iowa, June 9, 1899. A Jones chain mower testimonial by J F Seybert of Glen Powell endorses its reliability. A Presbyterian lawn social at Dr Emmert’s featured lanterns, a musical program, and refreshments.
