G W Parham and farmer J R Johnson clashed after Johnson bought Bearman stock, then demanded a refund at gunpoint. Johnson drank, argued, and was arrested when he could not post bond. Trial postponed a week as Johnson sought a $500 bond.

Affairs to be run by President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary elected annually. debt limited to two thirds of capital. stockholders private property exempt. Incorporators listed include Joan Rogier and others with H M Boorman as attorney.
In Cass County Iowa a district court notice warns William Barlow of an absolute divorce petition filed by Ona Bell Barlow on grounds of desertion. The plaintiff’s petition will be on file by September 16 1897 and a default judgment may be entered if he fails to appear by September 21 1897. Attorney B A Goopszren represents the plaintiff.
