Miles At Front Lands Near Santiago After Yale Arrival

General Nelson A. Miles arrived off Santiago bay aboard the Yale and met Admiral Sampson with General Shafter to confer on plans. The Yale raced from Charleston to Santiago in two and a half days carrying the Sixth Massachusetts. The Columbia followed with another battalion of Garretson’s brigade, but has not yet reached Santiago.
